I have been a teacher for over 25 years. In that time, I have taught public school, community college, homeschool, charter school, museum workshops and camps, tutored at large tutoring companies, and have done personal private tutoring as well. I taught students test taking skills in many of these jobs. Here are my top test taking tips!
1. The easiest and most painless way to Study for a Test is to do a daily 5-10 minute review of notes, homework, and quizzes. By looking at your materials every day, you’ll find that you remember more than trying to cram all the material at once for hours. A little bit every day is almost painless, but gives you the best results!
Repetition is the mother of learning! – Russian Proverb
2. About a week before the test, instead of your daily review, write a few daily test questions for yourself arms answer them. Try to anticipate the questions you think might be in the actual test
Bonus Tip 3: The night before the test, get a good night of sleep! You’ll remember a lot more if you are well rested!
Do NOT study by simply reading the textbook. This is a completely passive method of study and died little to help you remember anything.
